Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 5, 2026

1. Introduction

ACTower ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users ("you"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our agent monitoring and control services, including our website (actower.io), CLI tool, and desktop application.

ACTower is a developer tool that monitors AI coding agents running in tmux sessions. It classifies agent questions, auto-approves safe actions, and surfaces risky ones for your review.

2. Information We Collect

2.1. Account Information

When you create an account or subscribe to a paid plan:

  • Email address (used as your username)
  • Authentication credentials managed through a secure identity provider
  • Payment information processed securely through Stripe (we do not store card details)
2.2. Subscription and License Data
  • Subscription plan, billing cycle, and status
  • License key and activation status
  • License validation timestamps
2.3. Local Tool Data (Stays on Your Machine)

The ACTower CLI tool and desktop application run entirely on your local machine. The following data is generated and stored locally and is never transmitted to our servers:

  • Tmux pane content captured during agent monitoring
  • Agent question classifications and auto-approval decisions
  • Audit logs of monitored actions
  • Desktop app session data and approval history
  • Configuration and settings files
2.4. Technical Information

When you interact with our website or API:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and referral URLs
  • Cookies for authentication and session management

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Service Provision: To authenticate your account, validate your license key, and manage your subscription.
  • Transaction Processing: To process payments and manage billing through Stripe.
  • Communication: To send account-related notifications, billing receipts, and important service updates.
  • Security: To protect against unauthorized access and ensure the integrity of our services.
  • Improvement: To understand usage patterns and improve our website and services.

4. What We Do NOT Collect

ACTower is designed with a local-first architecture. We do not collect:

  • Your source code or repository contents
  • The content of your AI agent conversations
  • Terminal or tmux session content
  • Agent classification results or audit logs
  • Any data from your desktop app sessions

The only network calls the CLI makes are license key validation checks (your license key and a timestamp) against our API.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. Your information may be shared with:

  • Stripe: For payment processing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Cloud infrastructure providers: For authentication, data storage, and hosting.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or to respond to legal processes.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication, and access controls on all data stores. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and subscription data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., billing records).

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and receive a copy of your personal data
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and personal data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
